What’s black and white and luxe all over? Why, the Pre-Fall 2014 collections, of course.
Over the past few weeks, these collections have been rolling out on the web, and we’ve noticed a clear theme: fun play with black and white. While the two colors didn’t exclusively rule the look books–we really enjoyed bright pops of blue and orange mixed with grey from Altuzzara–many of our favorite pieces favored one color, the other, or even both. The standout item of the bunch has got to be the two-tone shoes from 3.1 Phillip Lim that rock both shearling and a gold chain. They are simply incredible. Also, incredibly, the feminine touches from the Spring 2014 collections didn’t dissolve completely, either. Florals stuck around in feminine silhouettes–especially on a knockout red floral dress by Erdem.
Expect these ready-to-wear collections to hit stores sometime after the Spring 2014 collections between May and July–and to stay there until the arrival of Fall 2014 at the end of summer. And, just for the record, we didn’t spot that many glimpses of the supposed 2014 Color of the Year: Radiant Orchid… Maybe it will be trending in the fall collections?
