Bermudian based reggae singer Collie Buddz has teamed up with rapper turned reggae artiste Snoop Lion formerly known as Snoop Dogg a track on his latest album “Reincarnated.”
The 12 track album that also features collaborations with Movado, Busta Rhymes and Akon among others is Snoops first effort since he converted to Rastafarianism following his spiritual journey to Jamaica. He told reporters that converting to Rastafarianism has changed him, he said, “I used to answer hate with hate. Like if you hate me, I hate you more. But now I answer hate with love.”
While his conversion has faced some opposition from sections of the Rastafarian community Snoop has not let this faze him. Bunny Wailer a former member of Bob Marley and the Wailers have been very vocal in expressing his thoughts on Snoop’s conversion he told TMZ, that Snoop has engaged in “outright fraudulent use of Rastafari Community’s personalities and symbolism”.
This will be Snoop’s 12th studio album although it’s the first under his moniker Snoop Lion. So far “Reincarnation” debuted at number one on Billboard’s Reggae Album Chart and number 16 on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart. It sold 21,301 copies it its first week.
Snoop first emerged in 1993 and gained much popularity from his widely successful album “Doggstyle” he followed this album up with a string of hits.
