While the brawl may have happened nearly a year ago, Drake and Chris Brown are not letting bygones be bygones. Both artists have allegedly filed lawsuits against each other as a result of a June 2012 altercation at W.i.P nightclub in New York.
Following the nightclub fight, multiple allegations and lawsuits were filed against both parties for their involvement. Model Romain Julien filed a suit against both artists as well as the club. Brown’s and Drake’s lawyers are asking the court to place sole responsibility for the fight and all resulting damages on the opposing party. Celebrity news site TMZ reports, “It’s a little technical, but each is asking the judge to pin the blame on the other.”
Neither of the artists have accepted responsibility for their role in the brawl, and are therefore waiting on the judge to decide who is responsible.
Although both stars were cleared of criminal charges in the bottle-throwing incident, a number of lawsuits are pending in the case. The legal implications in the lawsuit could cost Brown or Drake millions. A court date for the civil suits is yet to be announced.
