Rapper Juelz Santana appeared in court on Friday, January 25, to answer charges stemming from a 2011 argument with his girlfriend and a neighbor in Bergen County, N.J.
Reports stated that Santana (real name LaRon James) was allegedly assaulting his girlfriend when a neighbor called police. In response, the rapper threatened the neighbor with death and physical assault.
The neighbor explained to court: “I had to move out of fear. I pay more rent now. I’ve been having problems with my wife. The only thing I want is for him [Santana] not to come near me and my family.”
The 30-year-old rapper was charged with assaulting his girlfriend, along with the neighbor, and for violating a restraining order. Santana managed to avoid jail time by pleading to a third degree charge of threatening the neighbor. Superior Court Judge James Guida ordered him to two years probation. The Judge also ordered him to keep his distance from the former neighbor.
Santana still faces charges from a different 2011 incident. During this instance, cops raided his recording studio and discovered bags of marijuana, along with two handguns and ammunition.
