How To Get Around
The 6.7 square mile capital city is pretty easy to get around as everywhere is within walking distance. You may try the Citytrain trolley which covers all the city’s major historic sites in a 35 min trip.
Where to Stay
If you decide to stay for the weekend reserve a room at the secluded Park Hotel Sonnenhof which offers exquisite views of castles and the Alpine. Here you can try your hands at the royal sport of falconry and then relax on the terrace afterwards.
When to go
If you wish to visit Liechtenstein you may do so around the time when they have various activities. June 8 is the Alpine Marathon, which is the first event in Europe’s Mountain Marathon series. From July 6-20, is the staging of the 43rd Annual International Masters’ Classes music festival. August 15 is a national holiday dubbed “The Prince’s Celebration” on this day a public ceremony is held on the lawn of the private royal residence, Medieval Vaduz Castle.
If you visit during the summer months remember to pack a light rain jacket as this is the rainiest time of the year.
