The thirteen year old daughter of later rapper Heavy D is set to receive all of the money in his estate. Heavy D born Dwight Errington Myers passed away in November 2011 at the age of 44 after collapsing outside his Beverly Hills home. An autopsy later revealed he died from a pulmonary embolism.
The late rappers brother Floyd with the support of the family is taking action to maintain control of the funds for his teenaged niece until she is old enough to take over.
Heavy’s mother Eulahlee Myers told entertainment website TMZ that the entire family was behind Floyd in helping ensure the teens financial future. She told reporters, “The family all wanted Floyd as that person to represent Dwight’s estate.”
She went on to explain that, “Heavy’s estate needs to be managed. It cannot be self-managed or self-administered and it has to be court approved. Open bills, unfinished business, taxes and day-to-day decisions including future plans for his daughter all need to be done. This management needs someone who is capable, smart, honest and close to this family. ”
Following his death all of Heavy’s “personal belongings” were reportedly moved to storage. His estate is believed to be in the six-figure range.
