Reports from the New York Post indicate that Roc Nation boss Jay-Z is planning a concert set for July 8 on top of the Ed Sullivan Theatre marquee for the Late Show With David Letterman.
According to Post sources Jay-Z is still seeking the approval from Mayor Bloomberg’s office. However it is expected the performance will be sanctioned and is expected to be a major event.
A law enforcement official said, “If he gets permission from the mayor’s office, it’s going to be off the hook. They’ll have to shut down Broadway around the Letterman building. They’ll have to have a strong police presence. It’s going to be chaos with so many fans.”
