The friendship between Kendrick Lamar and Lady Gaga is about to make its way onto good kid, m.A.A.d city. The Mother Monster confirmed that she recorded a track with K.Dot for his forthcoming disc.“I am so excited to announce that a record I’ve been working on has now become a collaboration with @KendrickLamar for HIS ALBUM,” she tweeted, before revealing some more details about the duet.
“I wrote ‘PARTYNAUSEOUS’ about Jakarta, and my relationship with that country. Wishing I could “get high with the enemy” and make peace,” she added. “Once @kendricklamar + I started talking about life + his forward thinking views about love + hip hop, the song became something more.”
While the rapper has yet to comment on the song, he did add a little something about the October release. “25 yrs to write this album. Many moons from now. They’ll Dig up this disc as if it was rare artifacts. I’ll live forever,” he shared. The labelmates were spotted at the same place at the same time back in July. When Kendrick took the stage at the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago, Gaga was there to show him her support. She then took to Twitter to dish on her love for the MC. “Can your new album come out now so i can go out to clubs and dance again,” she wrote.
And the love didn’t seem to be one-sided. Later on in an interview with The Source he shouted her right back, saying, “That’s a real good friend… a real good friend.” And even back then he was toying with the idea of hitting the studio with her, adding, “God willing …. for now I just like the friendship thing.”
Well, K and G, it seems the Big Man Upstairs was listening. No word yet on if they were blessed enough to also record something for her 2013 release, ARTPOP.
