We all know Trinidad Carnival, is the greatest show on earth and Brazil is at the forefront too, but Miami is scaling at the top of the list. Miami Carnival is held during Columbus Day weekend in October. This year Miami Carnival will be held on October 10th, 2011. So when the weather gets cold on the east coast, Miami draws people from all over to enjoy the last of the hot weather. Taking place in downtown Miami, thousands of people flock to the area to party. Plan to rub shoulders with star-studded celebrities.

So, whether you decide to “jump-up” in one of 20 masquerade bands and 6 steel bands parading and competing for “Band of the Year”, experiencing the vibrant festivities will be all worth it. Parties start days before the actual carnival date giving party-goers a time to enjoy shows like Soca Fest, Bacchanal in de Park, and Red Breakfast Party to name a few.  Performances from top soca acts like Destra, Kes the Band, Machel Montano, Talpree are already confirmed.  For more information on the latest parties taking place Miami Carnival weekend, check out Island Mix.
