Neiman Marcus Victim Of Data Breach

In what appears to be an alarming trend, Neiman Marcus is the second retailer to experience a major data breach in recent months. According to Business Insider, on Saturday, January 11th, the Neiman Marcus Group Ltd. announced a possible security breach. A merchant processor is said to have informed the company, in mid-December, of “potentially unauthorized payment card activity.”

Although the luxury retailer declined to disclose how many accounts were compromised, they are working with federal law enforcement as well as conducting their own investigation to resolve the issue.
