Leave it to Betsey Johnson to bring out our inner wild child for Fall 2104, complete with acid colors and prints, barely there hem lines, and plenty of peek-a-boo skin. A brighter come-up from her floral party last season, this time around Betsey sent models down the runway in highlighter-hued lace bodysuits, and even brighter furs and stoles in complimenting colors of neon pink, green, orange, and blue.
Prints in retro throwbacks featuring cherries and lips on a mini dress and guns and roses emblazoned on both a dress and sweatshirt stood out as boldly as the neon rose print on multiple looks. While netted tunics and dresses, which are somewhat of a rarity for fall, seemed like the perfect get-a-way gear for banishing winter blues with a vacation.
Sequins were also a major standout in this collection in the form of crop tops, Capri pants, blazers, mini dresses, and a floor-length pink number that sizzled alongside a pink leopard-print handbag and matching booties. (Betsey made sure her accessories of handbags, shoes, and jewelry stood out just as big as the clothes.)
The collection was hot, and not because of the shirtless male models cooling things down a bit at the end, but because Betsy’s latest collection pairs her classic 80s babydoll aesthetic with a glam and sexiness that can be appreciated by a lady looking to have a good time at whatever cost.
