Producer, actress, rapper and Covergirl spokeswoman Queen Latifah and her producing partner, Compere Shakim, has reportedly partnered with the world’s leading Internet subscription service Netflix, in an exclusive licensing agreement for movies in the United States. This latest move will help to further distribute films produced by Latifah’s Flavor Unit production company.
Starting in spring of this year, Netflix subscribers will be able to exclusively enjoy the Flavor Unit movies ‘House of Bodies’ starring Terrence Howard and ‘Percentage’, starring Ving Rhames, Cam’ron and Macy Gray.
In a statement, Latifah said, “Shakim and I are thrilled to do business with Netflix. Netflix is such a strong brand and the perfect place to showcase our projects.” Flavor Unit has released numerous successful films including ‘Bringing down the House’. They have also produced television series, ‘Single Ladies’ and BET’s ‘Lets Stay Together’. The production company has also produced the all-African-American TV movie remake of ‘Steel Magnolias’.
