Boston fans of superstar Rihanna will have to wait some more to see her on tour. This after the singer postponed her concert after falling ill with laryngitis.
The singer was scheduled to play her second show on the “Diamonds” world tour on Sunday night, but was forced to cancel. A statement was released by Live Nation which says, “Unfortunately, following her sold-out concert on Friday, Rihanna has contracted laryngitis and per doctor’s instruction is unable to perform this evening.”
For her part Rihanna expressed her disappointment to her fans via Twitter: “#BOSTON this is the hardest thing for me to deal with! I feel like we’ve been waiting on this day forever, and I’m hurt that I let you down,” she also tweeted, “I hate disappointing people that never ever let me down!! I’m so embarrassed about this! Thank you for your prayers and well wishes!”
Her show scheduled for tomorrow is slated to go as planned, while the Boston show will be rescheduled at a later date.
The tour kicked off on Friday in Buffalo, New York and is set to stop in over 25 cities across the U.S. until May.
