22-year old Aussie rapper Iggy Azalea is officially getting to work on her studio debut album for 2013. However, in a surprise move, her label boss and mentor T.I. won’t be the executive producer.
During a recent television interview, the rapper announced that although she is still signed to Tip’s Grand Hustle imprint the two wouldn’t be working together to develop her debut album.
She said, “He’s actually not, anymore,” Azalea said when asked about T.I.’s EP role. “He was going to be, but originally…all the records that I had on Glory [EP] were supposed to be on The New Classic, and he executive produced what ended up being Glory.”
Azalea revealed that both agreed that she needed to go in a different direction with her debut. She is set to work with producers Diplo, Steve Aoki and Flosstradamus.
