Page Six — Rita Ora has denied having an affair with Jay Z and that she was “Becky with the good hair” in Beyoncé‘s “Lemonade.”
After Rita appeared to be taunting Beyonce on her social media by posting a picture of herself in a bra decorated with lemons, she was deluged with angry messages from Beyoncé fans. Ora then took to Twitter to insist the rumors are not true. “I never usually address tabloid gossip but let me be clear, these rumours are false,” she wrote. “I have nothing but the upmost respect for Beyonce. Let’s continue enjoying Lemonade.”
Ora also sent the Beyhive into a frenzy by posting a movie poster of Elizabeth Taylor’s 1973 movie “Ash Wednesday,” a film about a beautiful woman whose husband doesn’t love her and who tries to tempt him back by getting plastic surgery.
Jay-Z and Beyoncé are facing some heat following a recent trip the power couple took to the Communist island of Cuba to celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary.
Two members of Congress are now demanding an investigation from the Treasury Department to find out whether Bey and Hov violated a long-standing U.S embargo, which restricts travel to Cuba.
In a letter sent to Adam Szubin, the director of the Office of Foreign Assets Control dated Friday, Florida representatives IIeana Ros-Lehtinen and Maro Dias-Balart are seeking “information regarding the type of license that Beyoncé and Jay-Z received, for what purpose, and who approved such travel.”
The Florida lawmakers said they are looking into the matter as they represent districts with a high number of Cuban-Americans. The letter states, “We represent a community of many who have been deeply and personally harmed by the Castro regime’s atrocities, including former political prisoners and the families of murdered innocents.”
A 50-year-old embargo was imposed by the US government, which bans travel to Cuba for tourism. Only under certain circumstances such as cultural exchanges or journalistic endeavors are licenses granted for travel to the Communist nation. In 2011, the Obama administration relaxed a part of the ban to allow “people to people” tours where US citizens could go if they signed up with a travel organization.
Some Americans have however gotten around the ban imposed by entering Cuba via countries like Jamaica or Cancun and also requesting that Cuban immigration officials not stamp their passports. They are also not allowed to use American money during their visit. Anyone found to be in violation face sanctions including heavy fines.
Mega brand H&M is introducing Beyoncé as the new face of H&M’s summer campaign. Early speculation began last year when she was spotted in the Bahamas doing a shoot with the brand.
Queen Bey is set to appear in “Beyoncé as Mrs. Carter in H&M” print and television ads at the same time as her tour officially begins on April 15. Apart from being the new face of the campaign she also helped to design the look. Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M’s Head of Design says the line is loaded with Beyoncé’s personal style. The line features “the perfect bodycon dress”, a beach gown with a high slit at the side, high waisted shorts and a sleeveless shirt. A quarter of all the sales will be donated to the WaterAid charity.
Beyoncé released a statement expressing her excitement in regards to teaming up with H&M, “I’ve always liked H&M’s focus on fun and affordable fashion. I really loved the concept we collaborated on to explore the different emotions of women represented by the four elements – fire, water, earth and wind. It was a beautiful shoot on a tropical island. It felt more like making a video than a commercial”.
The H&M commercial will also feature Beyoncé’s new song, “Standing On The Sun”.
A Swedish man is facing legal action from record label Sony after he allegedly leaked Beyoncé’s 2011 album ‘4’ online before the release date.
TorrentFreak.com confirmed that the man with a Gothenburg address is a member of the music industry and he posted the entire album on popular torrent site the Pirate Bay.
The label reports that it lost sales and that its relationship with Beyoncé was imperiled by the leak. It also said its marketing efforts and Beyoncé’s own reputation was also affected. However, fans are not pleased with the legal action being taken by Sony and many torrent fans claim to be ‘angry’ with the record label for suing the Swedish man.
Sony has reportedly sued him for $233,000. Despite the piracy, “4” sold 310,000 copies in its first week of release and topped the Billboard Hot 200 Albums chart.
