“The Onion” Issues Apology Following Comments Made About 9 Year Old Oscar Nominee

Satirical newspaper “The Onion” has retracted a statement it made about 9 year old Oscar nominee Quvenzhane Wallis after they referred to the young actress as the c-word in a tweet.
On Sunday night at about 11:42 p.m. EST, tempers were ignited on social media site Twitter after the onion reportedly tweeted this, “Everyone else seems afraid to say it, but that Quvenzhané Wallis is kind of a c–t, right?” At once angry followers began hitting out at the tweet demanding that it be removed and that “The Onion” issue an apology.

CEO of “The Onion,” Steve Hannah on Monday posted an apology saying , “No person should be subjected to such a senseless, humorless comment masquerading as satire.” He further said “immediate steps” were being made to have disciplinary actions taken against the person responsible for the tweet.
Surprisingly, this is not the first time the young actress has been insulted just recently John Legend’s girlfriend, Chrissy Teigen tweeted that Wallis was sort of a “brat.” That insult too, was met with anger.
