Jamaica’s Triple Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt stepped off the track for a bit on the weekend onto a basketball court. This talented star, who has excelled on the tracks for his country, became the biggest track and field star to play basketball in primetime.
Bolt was the star attraction during 29 minutes of a celebrity basketball game, a precursor to the NBA all-star game.
Although his team was thrashed 38-58 by their competitors, Bolt did manage to hit one of five shots and got two points. The 6’ 5” sprinter controlled the ball and rose for a two-handed slam but was denied, taking more than two steps to complete the shot.
He told reporters, “I got a little bit of skills. For me it was good and I want to dunk some more.” Bolt played alongside comedian Kevin Hart, singer Ne-Yo, rapper Common, actor Nick Cannon and former NBA great Dikembe Mutombo.
